The Artwork
‘Strawberry Thief’ remains one of Morris’ signature patterns, a masterwork of authentic, inspired design. The brightly feathered fowl and impish levity in the pattern derive from real birds, and the delightful spectacle they made as they marauded the Kitchen Garden of Kelmscott Manor.
