Our William Morris collection exhibits the work of Britain’s most renowned Victorian textile designer. This particular piece is called ‘Golden Lily’.
Each of our compacts is artfully machined from solid brass, finished in gold plate, and richly enameled. Charles Mallory London not only gains inspiration from the legacy of exceptional craftsmanship won by British jewelers in the “Golden Age” of compacts, but in every detail, from the crystal clarity of our mirrors to their subtle, solid clasp, we build upon on it. More info on what makes a Charles Mallory compact so without equal can be found on our Design page.
The powder compact, which can be used with any loose or pressed powder (sized to accommodate all standard pressed powders), contains a removable sifter and puff. For further details on using our powder compacts, visit our ‘Compact care and use’ page which can be found at the bottom of this page.
This design was inspired by the art of John Dearle, a former Morris & Co. employee. He was an exceptional textile designer, who started his working life as an assistant in William Morris’s first shop on Oxford Street. Please see our Artwork page to learn more.
